In the packing up and clearing up of things, I decided to hit the Delete button on my email account. All 15,000+ emails are gone. I felt a weight lift from my shoulder. It was one of the bravest things I've done. It also cleared my mind.
I don't know why I did it, other than believing it's a part of the big clean up that's happening around me. Why am I keeping so many things from the past, including emails I would likely never return to?
I've found going through things from my past, one by one, especially pieces of paper can be joyous if it's a great thing to see, and draining if it's not a joyous thing. I think what I just did, is brave, joyous and liberates me from carrying the past around. I am free to move forward now. Hebrews 8:12 is the verse that reminds me of this freedom when God says "I will never again remember their sins." If He hit the Delete button, so can I.
