Letting go again!

It's bittersweet this time letting go of more clothes. We have been speaking about lightening our load. Today we did it and gave away some of our good clothing and items that we had too many of, like socks. I think we gave away the equivalent of one half of what a large suitcase can hold.

I've decided to start wearing everything that I have and use it up. I hope that by the time I leave Portugal, everything is well used and ready to move on so that I can travel very lightly. The next time I travel, my clothing will be very basic and versatile. Lots of lessons learned from this trip.

I once laughed at my mother who weighed every single item before she packed it into her suitcase. Now I see the wisdom in doing that.
