Ernest and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas! This year we are thankful to God for every situation in our lives and everything He has done for us. God has seen us through everything. I will never forget how different our lives are and how, during the pandemic He allowed us to travel, be well and He always provided His best for us in all circumstances. Our lives this year have not been without trials and tribulations. We have had our share.
One scripture that carries me through each day is from my favourite book in the Bible, the book of Isaiah. In Isaiah 7:14 it says "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." Immanuel means "God with us". Very often I remind myself of this "Immanuel. God is with us." This knowing that God is with us turns every situation around. Whatever we encounter, I remind myself, God is with us and He will carry us through. In Isaiah 43 God reminds me not to be afraid. He will be with me when I pass through deep waters, the rivers, the fires, flames will not set me ablaze and He will give a ransom for me because He loves me. Knowing that God is with us has changed my faith from hoping to having faith, from faith to believing and from believing to knowing.
I pray that as we commemorate His birth that it will not be lost in the shopping, gift giving and meals, but in remembering, believing and knowing that even today, God is still with us. Amazing things happen when we put God to the forefront of our lives. What a gift! Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart.
