The Power of Words

Updated: Nov 6, 2022

In Proverbs 18 it says "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit." I found an email I had written on June 2nd, 2014 in which I said at the age of 50, I want to downsize and move into a smaller place so that I can travel. If this happens a few years earlier than planned, then great.

This proves to me again that our words carry power. Here I am turning 50, I have completely downsized my life and I am traveling. I am eating the fruit of my words! I remember that I felt that this would be a reality for me when I wrote that note. There was a knowing and I could see it happening. It's interesting how God fulfills our deepest desires in ways that are much better than we imagine.

In my experience, my thoughts are just as important as my words. Whatever I am focusing on very deeply becomes my reality. I've learned to change the image of my thoughts if I am thinking something that is fear based or not based on love. Instead I put up the images that I would rather see see of happiness, love and success and I keep moving in that direction.
