The Simplicity of Life

Updated: Nov 14, 2022

In Luke 9:3 Jesus said: “Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt."

I was often scared of this scripture, as I packed for this move. It was a scripture that came to my mind often, and guided me to get rid of things.

I was scared because I didn't know what God was going to do next with me having less: no traditional way of living in a house, staying there and being comfortable.

Can I tell you how liberating it is? The wisdom of God astounds me. How did He know having less is so liberating? This room I live in requires less of my time to take care of. My tiny portable BBQ is bringing me so much joy! I can't explain it. I feel like I am able to rest with fewer things in my life. When God has taken away things in my life, I see now that I can thank Him. He's taken away responsibility and freed me in so many ways. I wonder how I will feel when it's just two suitcases?
