It is said that financial freedom is available to those who learn about it and work for it. When Ernest and I were married in 2015 we had lengthy discussions about what we wanted our lives to look like in 10 years. Speaking about it and visualizing it was one thing. Knowing how to calculate our financial freedom point was another. Our financial freedom point was the amount of money that we needed to have working for us in 2025 to live the life that we wanted to live, considering all possible expenses, inflation and possible sources of revenue. The numbers always talk. He completed the calculations on paper for us to see what that would look like. Every year since 2015, we continued to follow this principle. We checked our calculations to see whether we were on track and made adjustments as we needed to.
In 2020 we had an "A-ha!" moment. We realized that we could have our financial freedom that year instead of 2025. We believe by staying true to our plan and especially the calculations, we were able to commence our journey much sooner.
This Saturday March 26th at 9 am Eastern Standard Time we are sharing our calculations as well as what working towards the financial freedom point was like. If you would like to learn more and ask questions, please RSVP to email@example.com for the Zoom link. We are very happy to share this part of our journey with you.
