Spring Cleaning

Updated: Nov 10, 2022

Spring cleaning is a time for me to not only go through the things I have and make decisions on them. I use spring as a time to ask God to also clean me out. I have been doing this since 2013. It's like having my personal spiritual check-up with God.

I ask Him to clean me out, crack me, break me, scrape me, turn me upside down and shake out anything that does not belong in me that He sees. I also ask Him to purify me at the end of it. When I asked Him this the first time, I had no idea what was coming or what to expect. In fact, I didn't even know why I asked Him to do this in the first place except to say that I felt I needed to be spiritually cleansed.

This spring cleaning became one of the most powerful experiences I can have of God. He brings up things that I need to see and correct. He shows me my unrighteousness. Like a good Father He gives me the opportunity to take what was wrong and make it right. He sets me on the right course. Through this experience I learned to trust Him whole heartedly. I began to see things differently and see life more clearly after the cleaning. During this time, when I ask God questions, very clear answers are provided.

It's spring cleaning time again so that I don't carry unnecessary baggage with me throughout my life. It's now something that I cannot live without, a good spiritual cleansing!

Psalm 139:23-24 "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me into the everlasting."
