Every year since 2012 I've asked God for a word to set the context for the coming year. This year it is Change. As we approach the end of 2021, it is clear to see that my life has reflected that. In the midst of this time of the long lockdowns I've lived in 51 places, in a country that is not my native tongue, on a completely different continent, I've had to adjust my diet and lifestyle drastically. I've had to learn how to be both a minimalist and a digital nomad. I found myself filling gaps in what I now realize I need to know to move ahead. I've read more books this year than any other year in my life. I also chose to change by learning humility, compassion and seeing with the eyes of love. I knew I would have to change but I didn't expect to be the change.
Everything happens through prayer for me. When I was feeling like I was living out of purpose, I prayed and asked God to set in motion the big things that He wants me to do, to finally fulfill whatever it is that I am here for on this earth. This is how the Zoom series "Let's Talk About" began. Let's Talk About something meaningful, uplifting, insightful, happy and loving in the midst of all of the chaos and hurt around us. Let's learn about things that are uncommon. Let's see where healing, love and forgiveness are needed when we speak about these things.
I am closing off 2021 with Let's Talk About Prayer. Do you want change in your life? Prayer changes things. I did not know how to pray as an adult. It felt clumsy when I began to learn and not authentic. It took time for me to even begin to understand praying, what to do and why I should do it. The blessings of what happened next took me on a wild journey with God and my life began to change from being in the pits to standing out. I began to see the results of my prayers the more I did it. I will share my very clumsy journey of learning how to pray and we'll have an interactive discussion on Saturday November 4th at 9 am EST.
